Have you ever bought a painting for a million pounds and prayed that nothing happens before you can get an insurance cover note onto it?
Well when they were auctioning off a Banksy's Girl With Balloon at Sotheby's Auction House in London, the auctioneer banged his little hammer and declared "Sold for one million and forty three thousand pounds", and the new lucky owner didn't even have time to look upward before her picture frame started beeping and began to shred the painting.
Onlookers were shocked as the painting fed itself through a shredder that Banksy says he built into the frame in 2006, when he created the stenciled oil and spraypaint canvas of a girl reaching for a heart-shaped balloon.
Banksy was there at Sotheby's for the auction and was able to film the artwork destroying itself.
He quickly posted the video to his instagram with the quote from Pablo Picaso: "The urge to destroy is also a creative urge"
And here it is for you now.
