Reddit user ReservoirKat woke up recently to find there'd been a light snow overnight. Not too many inches, as she described, it was "barely really a frost. Just enough to cause a bit of trouble on the roads".
But a week later, she felt like she was getting shafted when a $100 fine came into her inbox from her HOA.
A penalty that big was hard to swallow, especially when the HOA were humming about cars and snow, but then pulled out of discussions and just sent a picture of what was making them salty.
A neighboring resident, who obviously stays up all night thinking of ways to make things hard for others, had complained about the shape Kat's Honda Insight left in the ice when she pulled out.
In ReservoirKat's own words: "The imprint our car left in this pitiful ass snow was the shape of a dick, and somehow that's our fault."
Kat and her husband didn't need a lawyer, they blew off the HOA and refused to pay the fine. She insisted they rub it out.
The HOA eventually realized she was serious and they wouldn't be getting any satisfaction, and since no actual bylaws had been defiled, they did junk the fine.
Kat attributed the bother to an ex HOA president with a swollen sense of importance, and reported the entire incident to the good people of Reddit.
Well, that's what she said.
